The first day with pattern software should end with a cut kit on your bench, not a support ticket. Here is the shortest path there.
Before you install
- Confirm the workstation runs Windows 10 or 11, 64 bit, with at least 8 GB of RAM.
- Turn antivirus off for the installation, then turn it back on afterwards.
- Install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable if the installer asks for it.
- Have your plotter powered on and connected before you launch the software.
The first afternoon
- 01
Install and register
Run the installer as administrator and enter the licence or trial code. One account is valid for one PC.
- 02
Run plotter setup
Choose your exact brand and model so the cutting width, origin and command language are set for you.
- 03
Calibrate on scrap
Cut the test square and adjust force until the film parts cleanly and the liner is only scored.
- 04
Search a real vehicle
Pick a car you have booked. Choose year, make, model and trim, then the coverage zone.
- 05
Nest and cut
Let the software nest the pieces, load enough film, and send the job. Watch the first panel.
- 06
Weed and label
Weed the excess and label pieces by panel before you walk to the car.
The three things beginners get wrong
Guessing the trim
Model line is not enough. Confirm year and trim, since bumper geometry changes between them and a wrong bumper piece is film in the bin.
Skipping the test cut
It takes ninety seconds and it protects a full roll. Do it on the first job of the day, every day, and after any blade change.
Cutting each panel as a separate job
Send the whole kit at once so the software can nest it. Separate jobs waste film at every start point.
